Bangalore
to Munnar road trip
From Bangalore, Munnar is 462 km away. It is a 7 ½ hour drive.
We started from the hosur road and after 197 km we reached Salem and then took a break for 5-10 min we then started again and went to karur which was 99.4 km away from Salem. We then went to Dindigul which was 78.8 km from Karur. From Dindigul we went to palani which was 56.9 km away. From palani we went to maryoor and stayed a night over there in Variath hotel.
The
next day we went to Munnar we reached Munnar in 1 ½ hour the whole trip from
maryoor we could see tea plantations on mountains and every 2sec we could see a
different view.
We stayed in high range club which was 2 km
away from Munnar town. The club had almost all type of sports and indoor games
like carom, golf, billiards, squash court, table tennis etc. We stayed there
for 3 nights, 4 days
On
the first day we went to top station and the viewpoints .it was just an amazing
view from the view point and also on the top station.
The
next day we went to Muttupetty dam, view point but the bad thing was that it
rained heavenly and we missed the boating and the views.
The
next day we were free so we played squash and many other games .
The
next day we left from the club and went to anaerangel camp we went for
trekking on the same day the trekking distance was 2.3 km but it was a tough track
so we reached the top about 1 ½ hour
later it was very cloudy up there so we couldn’t see the view .all of us were
tired and were hoping for miracle to happen and it seriously happened a man
with a jeep was passing and we asked for a lift we were so thankful to him that
he came on the correct time when we were tired and could not even move .
At
7:00 clock we had the camp fire and the Kerala’s traditional food. It was very cold.
At
5:30 the sun rised but there was an amazing view it was like we were on a bed
of clouds and after some time we went to visit the tea factory it was a very unpaved
rocky road after some time we came on
the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu the left side of the mountain was Kerala
and the right side was Tamil Nadu we continued on the unpaved rocky road for I guess
2-3 km and there comes the tea factory we saw the process how tea is produced .we
also tasted the organic tea which was actually very good they had two types of
tea which were lemon tea &black tea both were pretty good .
The same day we left for Bangalore .from Munnar
Bangalore is 552 km 9 hours’ drive but if we stop for a break or to have our
meals we can include an hour so totally we took 10 hours.
We
started from Palani to dindigul and it was noon and we were hungry. we had
planned to go to Thalakapatty a restaurant
it was on the Coimbatore road then we went to karur to Salem it was
6:40 when we reached and it started raining we continued and went to Dharmapuri
to Krishnagiri it was late night around 11:45
we saw McDonalds and had food over there .we reached hosur around 12:30 – 12:50
and then we straightaway went to Bangalore
we reached home around 2:00. I can say
it was a perfect holiday spot + a beautiful place.
